A small group of Zero Waste Vashon volunteers have created the next version of the Vashon Dish Library (formerly the No Trash Bash Stash). This long-time Island resource has allowed our community to reduce single use waste by borrowing reusable tableware for parties, gatherings and events.
The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit has generously offered one of their outbuildings to be the new home of the Dish Library. Now there is an online system where you can view available dishes, cutlery, glasses and table linens. This is all a big project, and we could really use some more Volunteers!
The most immediate need is for volunteers willing to act as administrators. Folks can sign up for as little as one week to monitor online reservations and answer questions.
This can easily be done from your computer at home and will only take a few minutes a day. It will be super important to ensure accessing the dishes is quick and easy for our Community
