DESCRIPTION:ZWV will be hosting the event at the Vashon High School parking lot on Earth Day\, Saturday\, May 9\, 2026 from 10 am to 12 pm.\n\nAccepted items: Computers\, laptops\, monitors\, ink cartridges\, printers\, fax machines\, keyboards & mice\, servers\, routers\, televisions\, DVD players\, VCRs\, audio components\, radios\, cellphones\, telephones\, cameras\, electronic games\, and small electronics.\n\nNot accepted: Rear screen projection TVs\, no appliances except microwave ovens. No miscellaneous metal boxes\, cabinets\, or large devices. Large flat-screen TVs\, old-style CRT TVs\, and CRT computer monitors require a $10 charge per item for disposal.\n\nCDs\, cassettes and videotapes\, and DVDs are accepted. Please put loose items in a bag or box for easy handling. \nElectronics are recycled by https://friendlyearth.org/ – All hard drives are destroyed to protect privacy. \n\nVolunteers needed\, it’s easy and fun! \nThere is no charge\, but donations to ZWV are gratefully accepted\n\nVolunteers requested to help with traffic mgmt. and loading for 3 hrs on the day of the event. SUMMARY:Beach Tire Cleanup 2026
DESCRIPTION:ZWV will be partnering again with Vashon Rotary on this year’s Epic Day of Service Beach Tire Event on May 16\, 2026 from 9AM-3PM. This will be like last year with the Jensen Point Park (Burton)\, north of the boat ramp\, as the staging area. Volunteers can bring any liberated beach tires there at any time leading up to the 16May event. On the date of the event\, volunteers can drop any beach tires and beach trash off at the Jensen Point Canopy for disposal or recycling. \nPlease contact Steven.bergman@zerowastevashon.org with beach tire locations and if you would like to volunteer with beach tire liberation from the sand\, collection and transport to Jensen Point Park prior to the event.
